The seventh season of Dance Moms premiered November 29, 2016 on Lifetime.

Synopsis

It's time for a change and this fall, “Dance Moms” is all about new beginnings. Opening a second studio and losing her star student, Abby’s life has been full of challenges. But that chapter has closed and it’s definitely time for a change. Abby is focused on making sure that her studio is thriving, as she searches for her next Maddie while nurturing her ALDC Junior Elite girls to become stars. Plus this season, Abby’s next generation of dancers – the Mini Elite Team – is full of promise and could put ALDC back on track to reclaim the National Title.[1]

List of Dance Moms episodes

The fourth season of Dance Moms, an Americandancereality television created by Collins Avenue Productions, began airing on January 1, 2014, on Lifetime television network. The fourth season has aired 19 episodes plus 5 special episodes (Guess Who's Coming to the Dance?, Dance Moms Cares, Seeing Red, Girl Talk, The Battle of Maddie vs. Chloe) bringing the episode count thus far to 103 episodes. However, Lifetime's episode guide does not list "Guess Who's Coming to the Dance?" and "Dance Moms Cares" as official season episodes.

Overview[edit]

Miller fears her Junior Elite Competition team doesn't show enough drive and threatens them by hosting nationwide open auditions for a new team. Although on a winning streak, tension rises between Miller and long-time client Kelly Hyland, and Miller finds herself in definite need of new dancers. Meanwhile, Melissa relishes in her daughters' successes with Mackenzie's blossoming music career and Maddie embracing new opportunities to dance. On the 100th episode, Miller unveils her new "Select Ensemble" for the first time.

Lawsuit[edit]

The episode "Big Trouble in the Big Apple" that aired on February 11, 2014 features the competition team at New York. During the final moments of the episode, Abby Lee Miller and dance mom Kelly Hyland get into a heated argument and ends with Kelly slapping Abby across the face and pulling her hair. Abby informs security and Kelly is removed from the building.[35] Following the incident, Kelly filed a lawsuit against Abby for 5 million dollars, while Abby Lee Miller filed for assault against Hyland.[36] Following the court proceedings, Hyland was banned from contacting Abby Lee Miller, including in forms of social media such as Twitter.[37][38]
